Summarize state literacy laws in spreadsheet
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am looking for a freelancer who can help me summarize, in a spreadsheet, the laws of all 50 US states governing the teaching of reading. Each law has up to 17 components, but FOR NOW I AM ONLY INTERESTED IN 3 COMPONENTS. All three components relate to retaining students with low reading scores in 3rd grade.
If you do a good job summarizing those 3 components, I may offer a bigger job to summarize all 17 components.
For each component, you will in the date when the component was enacted into law (e.g., June 3, 2013) and the school year when the component took effect (e.g., 2013-2014). I already know which state laws have each component; I just need more detail on when the laws passed and took effect.
I am attaching a draft spreadsheet and a PDF with web links to the state laws. Right now the spreadsheet shows which states passed which components of the laws, but when you're done it will also show when those components passed and when they took effect.
YOU ONLY NEED TO FILL IN THE BLUE COLUMNS, AND WITHIN THOSE COLUMNS YOU ONLY NEED TO FILL IN THE CELLS THAT I HAVE PRE-FILLED WITH THE NUMBER 1. IN THE BLUE COLUMNS, THERE ARE 80 CELLS THAT NEED FILLING IN.
Necessary skills and experience for this project include:
- Fluency in English
- Strong research skills
- Familiarity with legal terminology and understanding of state legislative processes.
- Familiarity with the US K-12 education system
