Retail Pharmacy Medication Dispensing
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I manage a busy high-street pharmacy and need a licensed pharmacist who can take full ownership of our day-to-day medication dispensing. Accuracy, patient safety, and clear counselling at the counter are non-negotiable, as you’ll be the final checkpoint before every prescription leaves the store.
The environment is strictly retail, so you will be working front-of-house alongside our technicians and cashiers. Beyond filling prescriptions, our store also administers vaccinations and maintains a large over-the-counter (OTC) section. I’ll count on you to answer quick clinical questions related to these services, check vaccine eligibility, and offer evidence-based product recommendations when customers browse the OTC aisles.
Core deliverables:
• Dispense all prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations, documenting interventions as required.
• Provide medication counselling and side-effect management advice to patients at pick-up.
• Oversee controlled-substance inventory, expiry checks, and daily reconciliation logs.
• Support the vaccination station by reviewing patient histories, preparing doses, and recording administrations in the state registry.
• Guide customers on suitable OTC products and escalate to primary care providers when red-flag symptoms appear.
