QGIS U.S. County Property Analysis Update
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
Create a QGIS Desktop 3.38.3 project displaying results for each property in the county. This is an update to a previous project in 2020, which I can provide you the qgz and shape files so you can see the previous layers and organization of pivot tables (see attached screen shot).
Unfortunately I don't have the script used to create it. Also, this version will be larger and sorted differently. Assume you're starting from the beginning.
I would like to get this completed in January. I’ll be readily available to collaborate. The developer who created the previous similar project in 2020 is also available to visit to get started, but not for ongoing discussions.
1. You’ll start with 84,000 JSON files, with about 175 entrees in each from Brazos County Tx. The shape files can be downloaded from the county.
2. You must have prior experience manipulating county tax records in the U.S.
3. You’ll need to create simple calculated values for each property (i.e., home value/square footage)
4. You’ll also need to write some script to analyze word text to characterize each property (i.e., if the property address is different than the owners address, the property will be identified as a “rental”)
5. You’ll need to calculate some aggregated average values for the properties in each subdivision (i.e., percent properties that are homesteaded in each subdivision)
6. Will need to create 15-20 layers of maps for individual properties, then the same layers for the aggregate subdivision data. See example layer organization in attached screenshot from 2020 Ver.
7. Need to divide the county into three areas and use shape files provided by the county to determine which area each property is in. Need option to display only one area at a time, or the combined area.
8. The cities have numerous zoning districts. We’ll map these to only four groups; single-family, multifamily, commercial, and university property. Need a toggle to mask each of these so that only one shows at a time. The layers will only calculate and display for the single-family area. We do not need to analyze the other types of areas.
