Populate Excel Columns to bring back required names using vlookup
Budget: £20 – £50 GBP
I have an Excel spreadsheet with two columns that need to be populated with names. I'm looking for a professional who can efficiently perform this task using the appropriate formula or method (like VLOOKUP).
Key Requirements:
- Populate two separate columns in an Excel spreadsheet with names.
- Extract the names from another Excel file.
Ideal Skills:
- Proficient in Excel functions, especially VLOOKUP.
- Experience with data entry and management.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate data transfer.
I have attached 1 excel spreadsheet. The first 2 tabs, "Entries FreeSample" and "Entrie Cookbook" both have an RSM column that require populating.
In order to do this, use the post code column that exists in each tab and lookup to the separate RSM tab. If the post code area matches the post code provided in the "Entries FreeSample" and "Entrie Cookbook" tabs, then show the RSM value from the RSM sheet.
The data in the "Entries FreeSample" and "Entrie Cookbook" post code column is not in an ideal format, such as no spaces etc so may need some work?
If you look at the "Entries FreeSample" tab you can see I made a start to show how the postcodes match to what’s required. The first post code starts with RM10, and if you look RM10 up on the RSM tab, you can see that should bring back "Paul McA".
