Personal Budget Excel Template
Budget: ₹100 – ₹400 INR
I want a clean, self-contained Excel workbook that becomes my monthly financial command center. Its sole purpose is to track my monthly budget, income, personal expenses, and operating expenses in one view.
Inside a single worksheet called “Monthly Budget Planning,” place an Income section at the top with enough rows for multiple streams and a running subtotal that updates automatically. Directly beneath it, create clearly labeled blocks for Personal Expenses and Operating Expenses. Each block should roll up its own subtotal and feed a final balance line so I can immediately see whether I’m over or under budget for the month.
All math needs to happen behind the scenes with straightforward formulas—SUM, SUMIF, perhaps a simple IF statement to highlight negative balances. Keep the formatting clean and friendly: light conditional colour cues to flag overspending, currency formatting throughout, and spacing that invites quick edits. Drop-down lists or basic data-validation are welcome if they help keep entries tidy, but please avoid macros or anything that complicates future maintenance.
Deliverables
• Finished .xlsx file with the structure, formulas, and conditional formatting in place
• A short read-me sheet or note telling me where to adjust categories or add more months in the future
That’s all I need to start taking control of my monthly finances.
