PDF splitting automation

I need someone to create a program which will take a large PDF file and split it into separate files based on page numbers, but the same number in a given series.
For example, the large PDF consists of twenty five 10 page documents, making it 250 pages long. I need it to split the file into 10 files, with each file being the same "page number" of the 10 page document (all page 1s, then all page 2s etc).
The program needs to be flexible so that I can change the original document length and run for any size PDF.
