More details:
The purpose of this project is to find the LinkedIn page of a list of equity analysts/researchers.
I will provide the potential full name and potential historical working experience. Please read the following instructions carefully.
Steps:
1. The potential full names of the equity analysts are in the following columns: “name”, “name_alias”, “name1”, and “name2”. Please check all these columns to see if there is at least one complete full name. If all first names are just an abbreviation, e.g. A Smith, ignore this row.
2. use any of the name + any of the working experience to search for the LinkedIn Page. Working experience/brokers are in “brokername”, “brokerfull1”, “brokerfull2”, “brokerfull3”, and “brokerfull4”. Try a different combination of “name + work” to search for the person if you cannot find.
3. If the working experience are abbreviations and you don’t understand. Check the link at columns: “additional link” or “url” for more information.
4. Some first names have nick names, e.g. Bill and William, Robert and Rob. They are the same.
5. The first and last name must be a match, and at least one working history is a match. This person must have worked as an equity analyst or an equity research related job.  This is very important!!
6. After you find the LinkedIn Page, copy paste the link into “link” in excel. If you cannot find it, put “0” in link. If you are not sure, write a brief description in “note” column.
Note:
1. Some names I provide contain middle names, but their LinkedIn file may not have. So, you may try the first and last name only to find the person.
2. Some working broker name are long, e.g., MERRILL LYNCH, PIERCE, FENNER & SMITH INCORPORATED. You may try the first part, e.g., MERRILL in search.
3. Different brokers might be the same one: e.g., B. RILEY, FRIEDMAN, BILLINGS, RAMSEY, and FBR. You can use other working experience to improve searching accuracy.
4. Occasionally, one person may have multiple LinkedIn pages. Choose the one with the most detailed information (education and working experience).
