Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced part-time contracted grant writer to join our team. As a grant writer, you will be responsible for crafting compelling grant proposals on behalf of our diverse range of clients including groups that focus on business coaching, cultural preservation, disability services, youth programming, and education. Your primary focus will be on researching and writing foundation, corporate, and government grants that effectively communicate the clients' missions, goals, and programs.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct thorough research to identify grant opportunities that align with clients' missions and programs
-Collaborate with clients to gather relevant information, data, and supporting documents for grant proposals
-Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate clients' objectives and intended outcomes
-Tailor grant proposals to meet the specific requirements and guidelines of each funding source
-Edit and proofread grant proposals for accuracy, coherence, and adherence to grant guidelines
-Coordinate with internal team members to gather additional input and insights for grant proposal development
-Ensure timely submission of grant proposals, adhering to deadlines and submission requirements
-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of grant funding trends, best practices, and guidelines
-Track and manage multiple grant opportunities simultaneously, ensuring timely follow-up and reporting on grant outcomes
-Collaborate with the evaluation team to integrate evaluation components into grant proposals as needed
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., English, Communications, Non-profit Management)
-Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing funding from foundations, corporations, and government entities
-Strong understanding of non-profit and for-profit organizational structures, missions, and programming
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and concepts
-Proficiency in conducting thorough research and gathering relevant data to support grant proposals
-Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple grant opportunities and meet deadlines
-Familiarity with grant funding trends, best practices, and guidelines
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment
-Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, and Google Suite
