Diary Transcription & Date Organization -- 2
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have several handwritten journals that I want turned into clean, searchable text files while preserving the exact wording and original voice. Accuracy is critical—every entry, heading, and notation should appear exactly as written, including any idiosyncratic spellings and line breaks. Once transcribed, each entry needs to be placed into its correct position in a master document arranged strictly by date so I can trace my life chronologically without shuffling pages.
You will receive high-resolution scans (PDF and JPEG) named by notebook and page number. Use any reliable word-processing tool you prefer—Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or similar—as long as the final files are delivered in both .docx and searchable PDF formats.
Deliverables
• Word and PDF versions of each journal, text perfectly matching the original pages
• A single consolidated document with every entry ordered by date (earliest to latest)
• A simple index page at the front of the consolidated file listing entry dates and page numbers for quick navigation
Acceptance criteria
• 100 % of words transcribed; no omissions or additions
• Original spelling and punctuation retained
• Dates verified and ordered correctly
• Search function in PDFs confirms entries are selectable text, not images
If questions arise about illegible handwriting, leave a clearly marked comment so we can clarify together.
