Data Entry and Research Specialist -- 2
Budget: $10 – $250 USD
This is a research-heavy job requiring hand-checking of each row + data entry.
I will only hire a very well-established person for this with lots of reviews/high rating + completion count.
Please read:
- Project is the creation of a spreadsheet that indexes "Opportunities for artists", including exhibitions, residency programs, and grant funding programs.
- Freelancer will take the two attachments, and start a new, shared google spreadsheet for their work.
- The spreadsheet I am making has several columns, detailed below. Important notes regarding the data itself are noted with an *, below:
1. Status
Options: New (default), Needs Vetting, Not Interested, Green Lit, In Progress, Submitted, Archived (deleted)
*While working on this, Freelancer can use “NULL, Up-to-date (as of 00/00/0000), Not-updated
2. Deadline/Deadlines
*Format: 00/00/0000 or NULL
4. Opportunity Name
Options: Exact name of opportunity pulled from the listing (COPY/PASTE)
*If not available, name the opportunity after the host organization then add/concatenate the Type to the end of the name (e.g., “Foundation for Eco-Conscious Artwork Residency Program”)
5. Opportunity Type
Options: Residency, Grant/Awards, Publication, Public Art/Commission, Exhibitions (Solo/Curated), Exhibitions (Juried), Other (Anything else)
6. Notes / Keywords
*Comma-separated tags/keywords pulled from the listing itself, and added to a running master list, which is to be used for updating/cross-referencing.
*This can largely be automated by extracting .txt files from URLs and using formulas tied to the sheet for cross-referencing each for text matches, which is why a good URL for each opportunity is important.
7. URL
*URL directing to a page describing the opportunity.
Best case: Direct URL to a static, detailed page on the originating organization’s site
Average case: Semi-permanent hosting page with most relevant details and application access, can be multiple listings in same url.
Worst case: Temporary or login-required page with minimal detail and unclear application path, may no longer be active. (If so, enter NULL)
8. Clients
*Comma-separated list of client ID #’s associated with each entry. These are contained in the source document of previously entered opportunities already matched with different clients. A few opportunities have been applied to by multiple clients already.
*The purpose of this column is to keep track of who has already applied to what, in order to both help them re-apply for recurring opportunities, share opportunities that are relevant for multiple clients as they are listed online/added to the index, and avoid re-matching them during the acceptance period.
9. Link to .TXT file
*Exact link to a shared Google drive link where the .txt file of text pulled from the URL is contained, which will be used in a next step to build on the keyword list.
10. Application Notes / Related Organisations
*Exact organizations and companies, foundations, key individuals, city agencies and government bodies, website hosts, all other relevant parties involved with the actual listing itself. (COPY/PASTE)
