Data Collection
Budget: $80 – $200 AUD
We're looking for individuals and families from various ethnic backgrounds to take part in our own-car video data collection project!
We have a new image data collection project that will be used to improve car-safety technology via facial recognition.
Unlike previous Sassafras projects, the data will be recorded in participants' cars, not Appen cars. Bring your own car, or come with somebody that has a car, or even borrow a car.
Please be aware that should your car be used for the project, it will require us to install video recording equipment. The set up is low impact and will not damage your car.
In this Sassafras Project S, we encourage participants to bring their families, i.e. parents, kids, or friends, and even pets. This project will require you to sit in a parked car, either alone or with up to 4 other occupants, where you will perform a number of actions (in a natural manner) where we can track the eye and head movement whilst wearing various props such as sunglasses, face masks, hats, etc. You'll perform tasks such as entering your car, using your phone, checking the mirrors, and turning to look at passengers in the rear seats. The data collected will be used for learning purposes to improve driver fatigue recognition technology.
Payment
Fixed price of $80 cash for adult individuals
Fixed price of $200 for families
This project is paid by task and not at an hourly rate.
The session will take approximately 75 minutes. This is an in-person project, therefore you must come to our location in the Chatswood area to participate in the project.
The quickest way to register is to click on this link and we'll get back to you as soon as we can to schedule a time.
