Behavioural Based Biometric User Authentication on smart devices

Traditional authentication methods like Passwords or Passphrases have had their day and with the
increased frequency of human interaction with their mobile devices, the need for an effective,
autonomous and secure authentication method has risen more than ever before. Gait is a proposed
framework to guide authentication and with all its potential application and shortcoming, more and
more research is being conducted to test its suitability for various uses. This study explores
behavioural biometric authentication to provide a transparent, robust and continuous form of
authentication for digital devices owners using acceleration and gyroscope technology in
smartwatch and wearables.
