Job Title: Researcher Needed to Compile ARPA Broadband Award Data by State (All 50 States)

Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful freelance researcher to compile a comprehensive dataset of broadband grant recipients from ARPA-funded programs (ARPA SLFRF and Capital Projects Fund) across all 50 U.S. states.

You will be responsible for manually collecting and organizing information from state broadband offices, press releases, grant databases, and other publicly available sources.

Deliverables:
A spreadsheet (Excel) with the following columns:
- State
- Program name (e.g., Broadband Opportunity Program, GREAT Grant, CPF, etc.)
- Awardee name (e.g., Charter, Brightspeed, XYZ Electric Co-op)
- Funding amount awarded ($USD)
- Number of locations to be served (homes, businesses, etc.)
- Counties/regions/communities impacted
- Project Deadline date
- Project description (if available)
- Date of award announcement
- Link to source documentation (state website, PDF, press release, etc.)

Scope of Work:
- Visit each state’s broadband office website, state grant dashboards, or NTIA’s Internet for All tools.
- Extract all available broadband infrastructure award data linked to ARPA funding (SLFRF or CPF), including past programs that are now closed.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in the dataset across states.
-Focus on readily available, credible sources – no speculation or third-hand reporting.

Skills Required:
- Strong research and data collection skills
- Familiarity with U.S. government grant programs is a plus
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Clear documentation and sourcing practices
- Experience with Excel

Budget & Timeline:
- Budget: Please provide a fixed-rate or hourly proposal, including an estimated total cost.
- Timeline: Preference for delivery within 5 business days, with progress check-ins.
