A flexible field gig where you visit local stores and get paid per completed task using the SpotOn app. Tasks are available across England, Scotland, and Wales — you pick whatever's near you on the map.
What's the project about?
You're helping build a Wi-Fi location database that powers smarter navigation, AI, and smart city services. Each store you visit contributes real location and connectivity data.
What you do:
Pick a store from the in-app map and complete these steps:
Enter the store and record a short indoor video (filmed toward the ground throughout — no faces, no customers, privacy-safe)
Confirm the store's Wi-Fi through the app (skip if none available)
Exit and take 3 photos of the storefront (full signboard + left/right street views)
Submit — auto-submit option available
Each submission goes through a review, so make sure photos are taken in daylight and the indoor video is genuinely filmed inside the store.
Pay:
£35/hr minimum — can go higher depending on how many stores you stack
£2.02 per store completed
No cap — the more stores you visit, the more you earn
Paid via PayPal or Wise
Best spots to stack tasks: High streets, retail parks, and shopping centres — stores cluster together on the map so you spend less time travelling and more time earning.
Requirements:
Android phone only — OS 6.0 or higher
Android 9.0 not supported
Huawei phones not supported
Minimum 8GB+8GB RAM
Active mobile data connection at all times
Able to enable Developer Options (one-time setup, takes about 2 minutes)
Comfortable visiting nearby shops, cafés, and retail areas
18 years old and above
Based anywhere in England, Scotland, or Wales
