Nationwide Home Repair Grant Research
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a detailed, up-to-date directory of U.S. grant programs that fund home repairs and rehab projects anywhere in the country. My priority is locating opportunities that pay for structural repairs, energy-efficiency upgrades, and aesthetic improvements, but I’m open to any program that ultimately reduces out-of-pocket costs for homeowners.
What I’d like from you
– A spreadsheet or database that lists every relevant grant you find, one row per program.
– For each entry: the administering agency, contact details, award range, matching-fund rules, current application window, eligibility notes, and a direct link to the official application page or PDF.
– A short summary outlining which programs appear strongest for someone tackling a full-scale renovation and which look best for single-issue fixes (roof leaks, insulation, façade updates, etc.).
Scope
Nation-wide coverage is essential; local or state programs are valuable only if they accept out-of-state applicants or can be replicated elsewhere. Include federal sources (HUD, USDA, DOE), nonprofit foundations, and any private initiatives that fit the brief. You may add small-business or mortgage-assistance grants when they can legitimately fund owner-occupied rehab, but keep the focus on residential repair dollars.
Acceptance criteria
1. Minimum 30 distinct, currently open programs.
2. No expired deadlines more than 60 days past today.
3. All links must be live and lead directly to the application or official announcement.
Please tell me what research tools you normally use (Grants.gov, Foundation Directory, state portals, etc.) and your estimated turnaround time.
