Project Overview:

Bain & Company, a leading global management consulting firm, is a key contributor to the World Bank initiative focused on Climate Change and Natural Disaster Responsive Transport and Trade Connectivity in the Mashreq Region. As part of this initiative, Bain & Company is developing an analytical foundation to help policymakers in Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Egypt, and West Bank and Gaza build climate and disaster resilience in regional logistics and trade networks. This project will specifically address vulnerabilities in transportation systems caused by flooding and extreme temperatures.

We are seeking a Freelance Market Researcher to support this important project by conducting in-depth research and analysis to guide policy dialogue and strategic decision-making in the region.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Freelance Market Researcher, you will play a critical role in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data to inform strategic decisions aimed at improving climate resilience in transport and trade sectors in the Mashreq Region. Your responsibilities will include:

Market Research & Data Collection:

Conduct secondary research on transportation and trade networks in the specified countries.

Collect data on the impacts of climate change (specifically flooding and extreme temperatures) and resilience strategies in regional infrastructure.

Identify current trends and vulnerabilities in logistics systems and trade routes.

Stakeholder Analysis:

Map key stakeholders in the transport, logistics, and trade sectors, including government bodies, private sector players, and international organizations.

Conduct interviews or surveys (if applicable) to gather insights from stakeholders about challenges and opportunities related to building climate resilience.
