Purpose and Use of Data:

The collection of invoice images is a critical part of our ongoing efforts to develop and refine Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology. This data will be instrumental in training a machine learning model aimed at invoice processing optimization. Our goal is to create an advanced system that can accurately and efficiently extract information from invoice documents. This project serves a greater good by enhancing the capabilities of automated systems to understand and process complex textual information.

Scope of Collection:

Volume: We aim to collect 1,000 high-quality invoice images for each language category: Japanese and Korean.

Criteria for Invoice Collection:

1. File Format:
- Invoices are to be collected in JPG, PNG, or PDF formats.
2. Source and Language:
- Invoices must be obtained from authentic Japanese or Korean sources.
- Text within the invoices must be in the Japanese or Korean language.
3. Quality and Legibility:
- Clarity and legibility are paramount; invoices must be easily readable by human eyes.
- Acceptable invoices include original digital copies and high-quality scanned images.
4. Source Diversity:
- To ensure a comprehensive dataset, limit collection to a maximum of five invoices per company.

Note:
1. Internet downloaded images will not be accepted.
2. Only horizontal formats are acceptable for invoices.

Use of Data:

- The data collected will be exclusively used for machine learning and invoicing optimization. We will not use the data for any other purpose without explicit consent.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

1. Multiple Invoices from the Same Company:
- While invoices from the same company are acceptable, they should not exceed five to maintain data diversity.
2. Invoices from Japanese and Korean Companies:
- The requirement is for invoices written in Japanese or Korean, regardless of the company's location.
3. Acceptability of Internet Downloads:
- Downloaded images from the internet are not permitted; only original or scanned invoices from credible sources are acceptable.

-Invoice:
- An invoice is a formal document issued by the seller requesting payment for services or goods provided. 

-Receipt:
- A receipt is a proof of payment provided after a transaction is completed.
Note: Only invoices are to be collected for this project; receipts are not acceptable.

- Invoices must be submitted in line with our data security protocols.
- Each invoice should be correctly named and categorized as per the established taxonomy.
- Thoroughly check each invoice against the outlined criteria before submission.
