Competitive Market Research for E-commerce

We are preparing to launch WillBuyIt.com, a new online platform for trading in used electronic devices in the UK. Our core value proposition is to offer fair, transparent, and competitive pricing to our customers.



To ensure our pricing strategy is competitive from day one, we need a detail-oriented freelancer to conduct market research on the trade-in prices offered by our key competitors.

The Task:

Your primary task will be to visit the websites of our top 5 UK competitors, collect trade-in price quotes for a specific list of smartphones, and enter this data accurately into a structured Google Sheet.

Device Conditions:

For each device, we need the price for different conditions. Competitors use different terms, but they generally fall into these categories. Please capture the price for each category they offer (e.g., "Good," "Fair," "Poor," "Faulty").

Deliverable:

A well-organized Google Sheet with the following columns:

Device Model (e.g., iPhone 14 Pro)

Storage Capacity (e.g., 256GB)

Competitor (e.g., musicMagpie)

Condition Category (e.g., Good, Fair, Faulty - use the competitor's exact terminology)

Trade-in Price (£)

Notes (e.g., any specific requirements or observations, like "Voucher value also offered")

Required Skills:

Proven experience in web research and data collection.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Google Sheets.

Excellent English communication skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

This is a one-time project, but it could lead to future work as we will need to refresh this data periodically.
