CRH Subsidiary Location Mapping
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Project Instructions: CRH Subsidiary Location Mapping
Objective
Build a comprehensive database of all operating locations for subsidiaries of CRH plc.
CRH operates thousands of locations in the US across hundreds of subsidiary brands , so this project requires a structured, repeatable research process.
Step 1: Build Master Subsidiary List
Compile a list of all CRH subsidiaries / brands.
Primary sources:
CRH “Brands” page (start here)
Annual reports / SEC filings
Third-party lists (Marketscreener, CompanyData, etc.)
Expect 100+ operating companies (many regional brands like APAC, Ash Grove, Oldcastle, etc.)
Output:
Tab 1 = “Subsidiary List”
Subsidiary Name
Region (US, Europe, etc.)
Business Type (Aggregates, Cement, Ready-Mix, Products, etc.)
Step 2: Location-Level Research (Core Task)
For each subsidiary, identify every operating location.
Required Data Fields (per location)
Subsidiary Name
Location Name (if applicable)
Full Address (Street, City, State, ZIP, Country)
Asset Type:
Concrete Plant
Aggregate Quarry
Asphalt Plant
Warehouse
Office
Manufacturing / Fabrication
Estimated Building Size (SF) (if applicable)
Notes (optional: yard vs building, rail-served, etc.)
Step 3: Research Methodology (Very Important)
The Upwork researcher should follow this exact order:
Subsidiary Website
“Locations” / “Branches” pages
Google Maps
Search: “[Subsidiary Name] locations”
LinkedIn
Company pages + employee locations
State filings / DOT / industry directories
Satellite view (Google Maps)
Confirm asset type (plant vs warehouse vs office)
Step 4: Estimating Square Footage
SF will not always be published. Use:
County tax assessor / GIS (preferred)
LoopNet / CoStar / Crexi (if available)
Google Earth measurement (fallback)
If unknown → mark as “N/A” but still include location
Step 5: Data Structure
Final deliverable should be Excel or Google Sheets:
Tab 1: Subsidiaries
Tab 2: Locations (Primary Deliverable)
Locations Tab Columns:
Subsidiary
Location Name
Address
City
State
Country
Asset Type
SF
Source Link
Step 6: Quality Control
Before submitting:
No duplicate locations
All addresses formatted consistently
Asset type assigned for every location
Sources included for verification
Step 7: Prioritization (If Needed)
If time constrained:
Start with U.S. subsidiaries (highest priority)
Then expand internationally
Additional Guidance
CRH operates under many local brands, not just “CRH” name
Focus on physical operating sites, not legal entities or holding companies
Ignore purely financial or shell subsidiaries
Output Expectation
A clean, deduplicated, decision-ready dataset that allows:
Mapping footprint
Identifying asset mix
Understanding scale by subsidiary
