Alcohol Withdrawal Protocol Upgrade
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
My doctoral capstone centers on a clinical practice improvement: elevating the treatment protocols used for patients experiencing alcohol withdrawal. I have preliminary data and institutional support, but I need a partner to help shape the project into a robust, evidence-based protocol that meets DNP scholarship standards and can be implemented smoothly on the unit.
Scope
• Conduct (or tighten) a systematic literature review focused on best-practice alcohol withdrawal management, including CIWA-Ar scoring, pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, and escalation criteria.
• Translate findings into a clear, step-by-step protocol/algorithm ready for bedside use—flowcharts, order sets, nursing checklists, and patient-monitoring timelines.
• Develop an implementation and evaluation plan that details staff education strategies, data collection points, outcome measures (length of stay, complication rates, benzodiazepine usage), and a run-chart template for PDSA cycles.
• Provide APA-formatted references, tables, and appendices suitable for submission to my program’s IRB and final manuscript.

The final package should align with AACN DNP essentials, cite current (≤5-year) literature, and be delivered as an editable Word document plus any supplementary visuals in PowerPoint or PDF.
