Visual FoxPro Database Overhaul

I need to bring several Visual FoxPro databases up to modern standards while also building a fresh one from scratch. On the legacy side, the structure needs a careful redesign so tables, indexes, and relations make sense for today’s workflows. As part of that redesign, stale and duplicate records have to be cleansed, and performance tuned so queries return instantly rather than in minutes.

Once the data is sound, I want clear, professional-looking reports and analytics dashboards that management can run with a single click. The new database should follow the same architecture and optimisation principles so it integrates cleanly with our existing codebase. Everything must stay native to Visual FoxPro; however, if a lightweight helper tool (e.g., SQL Server Express or Power BI for the front-end analytics layer) makes sense, I’m open to your recommendation, provided the core remains in VFP.

Deliverables
• Updated schema for the current VFP database, fully documented
• Cleaned and optimised data set with repeatable scripts
• A brand-new VFP database built on the revised architecture
• A suite of parameter-driven reports and analytics views
• Deployment notes and brief hand-off session so our in-house team can maintain the solution going forward

Acceptance criteria: all queries must execute in under two seconds on a dataset of at least one million rows, and every report must export flawlessly to PDF and Excel.
