Auto Parts Fitment Data Cleanup

Job ID: 40405177

Budget: $2 – $8 USD

I have around 30,000 auto-parts SKUs on my ecommerce site that need a thorough data refresh. The current catalogue was originally built from manufacturer data pulled straight from their websites, but over time product names drifted, compatibility fields became inconsistent, and descriptions lost the detail buyers rely on. My goal is to bring every listing back in line with the official manufacturer specs so shoppers can confidently search by year-make-model and find exactly what fits.

Here is the scope of work I need completed:

• Product naming – standardise each title so it follows the manufacturer naming convention, removes duplicates, and uses clear part identifiers.
• Vehicle compatibility – cross-reference every SKU against the latest manufacturer fitment charts and update the YMM fields accordingly. Accuracy here is critical.
• Product descriptions – expand or correct content where text is thin, outdated, or copied in the wrong format, keeping tone consistent and adding key specs when missing.
• Tags, locations, and other metadata – clean up keyword tags, category placement, and any location fields that affect search or filters.

All authoritative information is available from the manufacturers’ own websites; you will be pulling or verifying against those pages rather than guessing. Please tell me if you prefer to work in bulk via Excel/CSV or directly in the site’s backend—I’m flexible as long as the final deliverable is a complete, error-free catalogue ready for import or live publication.

Acceptance criteria
– 100 % of listings updated with standardised naming convention.
– Verified YMM fitment table for each SKU; no blank or mismatched entries.
– Descriptions free of spelling, grammar, or factual errors and aligned with manufacturer specs.
– Clean tag/metadata structure that supports site search and category filters.
– Final file (or live site) spot-checked passes random QA without corrections required.

If you’ve handled large-scale auto-parts data before and are comfortable juggling Excel, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, or similar tools while double-checking against manufacturer sites, I’d love to hear how quickly you can turn this around and what workflow you’d propose.
