Recover Misplaced Scrivener Project
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
My Scrivener project suddenly vanished from its usual place and all I can see now is a single .scrivx file that somehow ended up inside my Word documents folder. The binder, research folders, and the normal Scrivener panel no longer open, so I’m unable to access any of my chapters or references.
I already ran a Windows search and located only that lone project file in the Word folder; I don’t remember where the full project lived before this happened. I need someone who understands Scrivener’s file structure on Windows to:
• Re-establish the complete project so it opens in Scrivener with the binder and documents intact
• Identify whether any auto-backup or duplicate folders exist and, if so, merge or restore them
• Show me how to move the project back to a safe location and set up a reliable backup routine to prevent this in the future
A quick remote session (Zoom, TeamViewer, or your preferred tool) that ends with my project opening normally in Scrivener will be the acceptance point. If you’ve rescued misplaced .scriv projects before, I’d love your help.
