Advanced TrueNAS Media Cloud Setup
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
My TrueNAS Core box is already up and running on the LAN; now I want it to become the single hub for personal cloud storage, media streaming, and automated off-site protection. I need NextCloud for everyday file access, Jellyfin for movies and music, plus rclone (or any reliable alternative) syncing my Google Photos library and creating an automated, encrypted Google Drive backup of designated datasets.
Security and control matter. Please create advanced user permission groups so family members get only the shares and libraries intended for them, while an admin role retains full rights. SSL, strong passwords, and sensible firewall or reverse-proxy rules are expected so each service is safely reachable inside the home network and, where appropriate, over the internet.
Deliverables
• Clean installation and configuration of NextCloud, Jellyfin, and rclone (or comparable tool) on the existing TrueNAS instance
• Scheduled Google Drive backups with versioning and encryption
• Continuous Google Photos sync to local storage
• Tuned datasets, mount points, and caching for smooth playback and quick file access
• Documented steps and credentials (in a secure hand-off file) so I can maintain and expand the setup on my own
Acceptance criteria: every service must survive a reboot, appear healthy in the TrueNAS UI, and pass a brief walkthrough with me over screenshare before completion.
