Vegetable Yield Improvement Research
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I want a thorough research and analysis project focused on boosting the yield of vegetable crops. The end goal is a clear, data-driven roadmap I can hand to our horticulture teams so they know which practices, inputs and technologies will deliver the biggest, quickest gains in the field.
Scope
• Review up-to-date scientific literature, trial data, and extension reports on yield-enhancing practices for major open-field and protected-culture vegetables.
• Benchmark current yields in comparable agro-climatic zones, then quantify realistic improvement targets.
• Identify the most influential variables—variety selection, fertigation scheduling, precision-ag tools, biostimulants, integrated pest management, soil amendments—and explain the mechanisms behind each.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations, supported by statistics, cost-benefit estimates, and citations.
Deliverable
A concise report (Word or PDF) that includes an executive summary, methodology, analysis, referenced data tables/figures (Excel or R code welcome), and a prioritized action plan our department can pilot this season.
Acceptance criteria
• All statements backed by peer-reviewed or field-trial sources dated 2018 or later.
• Yield projections expressed in both percentage lift and absolute tonnes per hectare.
• Clear differentiation between short-term wins and longer-horizon investments.
If you have experience mining agronomic databases, running meta-analyses in R or Python, or synthesizing findings into grower-friendly guidance, I’d like to see examples of previous work when you bid.
