Text Data Cleaning Specialist

I have several spreadsheets filled with text-based entries that now need a thorough clean-up. Typos, inconsistent casing, stray spaces, duplicated rows—everything that prevents smooth downstream work—has to go. Your job is to take the raw Excel/Google Sheets files I provide, run a full text-data cleaning pass, and return a polished version ready for analysis.

Scope
• Work exclusively with text data pulled from spreadsheets.
• Detect and fix spelling errors, inconsistent formats, extra whitespace, and duplicated records.
• Maintain column order and original structure unless a change is needed to correct an obvious data issue.
• Supply a change log (tab or separate file) summarising what was altered so I can review quickly.

Acceptance Criteria
1. No duplicate rows remain.
2. All text fields are consistently capitalised or in the chosen case style.
3. No leading/trailing spaces or stray line breaks.
4. File opens error-free in Excel and Google Sheets.
5. Change log accurately documents each bulk operation or significant manual fix.

If you have strong Excel functions, Google Sheets, Power Query, or scripting skills (Python/pandas welcome but not required), you’ll breeze through this. Please tell me about a similar text-cleaning project you completed and how long it took.
