Power Query Tutoring for Forecasts

I’m building a spreadsheet that pulls in my investment-portfolio data and I want to handle most of the work inside Power Query rather than juggling formulas on the sheet. My main stumbling block is writing a reusable custom function that takes historical price data and produces a clean, forward-looking forecast of portfolio value.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Walk me through the whole setup—connecting to the brokerage CSV/JSON feed, shaping it, and loading it so the query refreshes with one click.
• Show, step by step, how to author and parameterise a custom M function that projects future values.
• Explain the logic behind the function so I can tweak assumptions (growth rate, contribution schedule, etc.) later without breaking the code.
• A short wrap-up session where I demonstrate the process back to you and you confirm everything works.
