Operations Data Analyst Needed

We are seeking an experienced Operations Data Analyst to support Pebble, the UK’s first rural-focussed, open-access smart parcel locker network. Pebble works with major couriers and local councils to cut delivery inefficiencies, reduce emissions, and improve access to parcels in underserved communities.
The primary focus of this short project is to assess the operational and financial feasibility of Pebble lockers by analysing courier datasets and modelling cost, efficiency, and emissions impacts.
Key tasks include:
• Cleaning and preparing courier datasets.
• Mapping depot locations and catchment areas.
• Analysing stem mileage, route length, drop density, and parcels per route.
• Mapping Pebble lockers and direct injection volumes into rural areas, calculating potential cost savings.
• Assessing failed delivery rates and the cost of redeliveries.
• Modelling cost per parcel across delivered, failed, and returned categories.
• Building ROI scenarios for Pebble lockers using supplied courier volumes.
• Calculating emissions per parcel reductions based on courier fleet data.
• Consolidating findings into a unified feasibility model.
Deliverables:
• Depot catchment maps and route profiles.
• Cost per parcel model (delivered, failed, returned).
• Route profitability thresholds.
• Emissions baseline vs. Pebble scenarios.
• Locker ROI model using courier volumes.
• Final feasibility report
Ideal candidates should have:
• Strong background in operational and logistics data analysis.
• Experience in route mapping, transport modelling, or courier network optimisation.
• Proficiency in GIS and data visualisation tools.
• Ability to build cost and ROI models in Excel or equivalent.
• Familiarity with emissions modelling for transport operations.
