I’m commissioning a full-cycle study that places budget assessment at the centre of our work with non-profit organisations. The assignment weaves together four strands—monitoring economic data, evaluating current economic projects, running a focused budget survey, and shaping an advocacy narrative that can move stakeholders to action.
The heart of the job is a rigorous look at how non-profits plan, allocate, and report their resources. You’ll need to:
• Track and analyse the economic indicators that matter to our sector, translating raw data into clear insights.
• Evaluate selected programmes against their stated economic objectives, highlighting value for money and policy alignment.
• Design and implement a concise budget survey that captures both quantitative and qualitative feedback from partners.
• Turn the findings into an advocacy brief that policy makers and donors can act on.
Quantitative skills (Excel, R, Stata or similar) must pair with a solid grasp of monitoring and evaluation frameworks. Qualitative interviewing experience is equally valuable, as many insights will come from stakeholder conversations rather than spreadsheets alone.
