Multi-Layer Cost Allocation Model
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Consolidating several input sheets and then pushing a weighted-average cost out to each business unit, project, and service group is the core objective of this build. I already have the raw figures and the driver percentages; what is missing is a single, well-structured workbook that can absorb the inputs, perform the tiered allocations automatically, and summarise the results clearly for management review.
The file must:
• Accept raw cost and driver data on dedicated input tabs.
• Calculate successive allocation layers (corporate → department → service group → project) through transparent, maintainable formulas.
• Present an at-a-glance summary that can be refreshed instantly whenever new data is dropped in.
• Remain fully editable—no hard-coded numbers buried inside the logic.
A brief walkthrough sheet or comments explaining the main formula chains will round out the delivery and help me audit the numbers later. Accuracy, clarity, and speed of calculation are what matter most; anything that keeps the model lightweight and easy to follow will be appreciated.
