Mobile Game Deconstruction Analysis
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
The job centres on taking four mobile titles that I will name once we start and breaking them apart in a structured, evidence-based way. You will screen-record full play-throughs (OBS, native capture or similar are fine), then document and compare each game’s level design with a focus on:
• Number of elements placed in a level
• Colour choices and palette shifts
• Core mechanics that drive progression
• Time required to complete representative levels
• Where and how monetisation (ads, IAP prompts, currencies) appears inside the level flow
I’m especially interested in any patterns that link those variables to player difficulty curves or retention hooks, so please add notes if you spot clever environmental design, obstacle placement, or progression tricks along the way.
Deliverables
1. Raw gameplay videos for every analysed level, organised by game and stage.
2. A tidy spreadsheet or table capturing the data points above for each level.
3. A slide deck (PowerPoint or Google Slides) that visualises the findings side-by-side—include annotated screenshots, concise commentary and at least one comparative chart for each tracked metric.
Acceptance criteria
• All four games covered with consistent methodology.
• Data in the spreadsheet matches what is shown in the videos.
• Slides read clearly on a standalone basis; no extra explanation needed.
If you already use tools like Airtable, Notion or Figma for similar deconstructions, feel free to integrate them, provided the final hand-off remains in the specified formats. Looking forward to seeing how you dissect these games and surface actionable insights.
