Manufacturing Production Tracking Spreadsheet

I run a small manufacturing operation and I need a single, well-structured spreadsheet—built either in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets—that lets me monitor everything that happens on the shop floor in real time. The file should stay lightweight enough for day-to-day use, yet smart enough to replace the scattered worksheets we rely on now.
Core production-tracking features I must see:
• Real-time progress updates so I can glance at a dashboard and know exactly where each job stands.
• Resource allocation that shows which machines, people, and raw materials are committed, free, or nearing capacity.
• Production scheduling that automatically adjusts when lead times change or an order is added, with clear visual cues for late or at-risk tasks.
I’m happy with either platform, so build in whichever environment you’re most comfortable with—just make sure the formulas, conditional formatting, and data validation rules are easy for me to maintain once the hand-off is complete. If you have experience tying Sheets or Excel to live data via Apps Script, Power Query, or similar, feel free to incorporate that as well; I’d love to see the workflow updating itself without manual refreshes.
Please keep the structure modular (separate tables for orders, work centers, materials, etc.) and include concise in-sheet documentation or comments explaining any VBA, Apps Script, or advanced formulas you write.
