MIS Executive: Financial Data Analysis

I need an experienced MIS executive who can take ownership of our financial data—specifically the expense reports and investment records we generate every month—and turn it into clear, actionable insight for the leadership team.
Your day-to-day will revolve around three core activities: deep-dive data analysis, building concise management reports, and keeping our small MySQL/Excel database clean and up to date. Strong command of Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, advanced formulas) and at least working knowledge of SQL or Power BI will let you hit the ground running.

Deliverables I expect from you:
• A weekly dashboard that highlights key variances in expenses and investment performance.
• A polished month-end report (PowerPoint or PDF) summarizing trends, exceptions, and recommendations.
• A regularly maintained data repository with documented transformations so another analyst can audit your work easily.

I’ll provide raw CSV exports from our accounting software and brokerage platform; you’ll standardize, validate, and visualize them, making sure every figure ties back to source. Accuracy and clear narrative commentary are a must, because these reports feed directly into our board presentations.
