Irrigation Surge Analysis Specialist

I’m ready to commission a detailed hydraulic surge study for an irrigation scheme and want the confidence that only a specialist can bring. The goal is to model the network, simulate surge events—steady-state and transients, including potential water hammer—and then translate those results into clear, practical design or operational changes.
You will start by gathering the as-built data: pipeline geometries, pump curves, valve characteristics, and any current surge-protection devices. Using recognised tools such as Bentley HAMMER, AFT Impulse, InfoWater, or a comparable transient solver, you’ll develop the model, run the scenarios we agree on, and interpret each pressure envelope with an eye on equipment longevity, delivery efficiency, and safety margins.
Deliverables (all electronic):
• Calibrated model files and a summary of key assumptions
• Surge plots, pressure envelopes, and critical-node tables
• A concise engineering report outlining risks, recommended protection devices or operational tweaks, and any design modifications needed for pumps, pipelines, or valves
• A brief hand-over call or recording walking through the findings
Acceptance criteria:
• All transient pressures must be tracked to both the positive and negative extremes, with commentary on Joukowsky spikes where applicable
• Recommendations must reference local or international irrigation standards that you cite
• Every conclusion ties back to a model result clearly shown in the report
