Indonesian Family History Research

I’m looking for a meticulous researcher who can uncover and document the historical events that shaped my family in Indonesia. Over the decades our relatives have moved between Java and Sumatra, and stories of colonial rule, wartime evacuations, and post-independence migration still circulate in fragmented anecdotes. I’d like those fragments turned into a clear, factual narrative.

Scope
• Gather primary and secondary sources—archival newspapers, government records, church or mosque registers, and local oral histories—relevant to my family’s movements from the late 1800s through the 1970s.
• Build a chronological timeline highlighting key events that directly impacted the family (e.g., Dutch East Indies policies, World War II internments, 1965–66 period).
• Produce a well-structured report (≈20–30 pages) that explains each event, cites sources, and shows how it intersected with specific ancestors.
• Include a concise visual aid: either a map marking locations or an illustrated timeline—whichever better clarifies the story.

What I can supply
Names, approximate birth years, and the towns where my grandparents and great-grandparents lived; a handful of scanned letters; and permission to contact two elderly relatives for interviews.

Expectations
• Clear English writing.
• Proper citations (footnotes or endnotes are fine).
• Digital delivery: PDF of the report plus a folder containing raw documents, interview recordings/transcripts, and reference links.
