Image Engagement API Analysis

I run a site where visitors interact with pictures, and all activity is exposed through an API. I need a clear, lightweight analysis that tells me how users engage with those images.

Scope
• Connect to the existing API, pull the picture-related data, and store it locally.
• Calculate core user-engagement metrics—views, clicks, likes, time on image, or any comparable signals you can derive from the feed.
• Deliver a short summary report (tables or simple visualisations are fine) highlighting trends and standout patterns.
• Provide the cleaned dataset and well-commented code so I can rerun the process whenever new images go live.

Please keep the solution straightforward and resource-friendly; a solid initial blueprint is all I need at this stage. Python or R is preferred, but I’m open to other languages if you can show a quick win.
