Genealogy Research Using Family Records

I’m looking for a meticulous genealogist to trace my paternal family as far back as the available records allow. My primary resource right now is a set of marrige certificates, children's birth certificates. My grandfather was a merchant seaman originally, I believe from Sierra Leone and living in Sunderland. He died at sea in 1941. I have no information on his history as a sailor and from beofre. I know the family was poor and was not living together at the time of the 1921 census. I have some traces of some of the children in Industrial Schools but no nothing about their lives and what happened to them. I also lost touch with my own father and would like to know something about his life.
