Financial Expense Tracking Analysis
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I have a year of raw expense data sitting in multiple CSV exports from QuickBooks and bank feeds. The task is pure data analysis and reporting, focused solely on expense tracking. I need this information cleaned, reconciled, and transformed into clear insights I can act on.
The work begins with consolidating the files, removing duplicates, and standardising categories where labels are inconsistent. Once the data is tidy, I want a concise reporting suite: pivot-based tables, charts, and a dashboard that lets me view monthly totals, category breakdowns, year-over-year variance, and the top spending drivers at a glance. Whether you work in Excel, Google Sheets, Python (pandas), or Power BI is up to you, as long as the final deliverables are editable and refresh automatically when new transactions are added.
When the numbers are visualised, I also need a brief written summary that highlights unusual spikes, recurring fees, and any quick-win savings you spot. All transactions must reconcile back to the closing balances so I can trust the results.
I will provide the CSVs and any historical category mapping the moment we kick off. If you have questions about the data structure or preferred tooling, just let me know early so we keep momentum.
