Finance Excel Sheet Revamp

Job ID: 39851452

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I manage my personal and business numbers in one Excel workbook, but it has reached the point where every new entry feels like a risk. I want the file overhauled so it is easy to use, mathematically reliable, and visually clear.

Key improvements I expect
• Ease of use: fewer manual inputs, protected formulas, a clean layout, and (if you feel it adds value) selective drop-down lists for categories.
• Data accuracy: robust formulas and tables that calculate automatically—no more broken links or #VALUE! errors.
• Visual presentation: clear dashboards, colour-coded sections, and charts that tell the story at a glance.

Essential functionality
Automated calculations must cover three areas I work with every week:
1. Financial summaries that roll up income, expenses, and net position.
2. Budget forecasts that project balances forward.
3. Expense tracking that tags each cost centre and flags overspending via conditional formatting.

Deliverables
- A single, unlocked copy for my review and a protected final version (.xlsx) with all automated sections working.
- Conditional formatting rules that highlight thresholds and variances.
- A short “Read-Me” tab explaining where to input data and how the figures update.

Acceptance criteria: totals reconcile with my test data, forecasts extend correctly when I add new months, and no security warnings appear on opening. If a macro or Power Query step is genuinely the best solution, document it in that Read-Me tab.

If this sounds straightforward for you, let me know how quickly you can turn it around and any clarifying questions you need answered.
