Eyelink Data Analysis Expert

Job ID: 39929693

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I have a large dataset of eye-movement recordings collected with an Eyelink system for a vision-science study. I now need a specialist who is comfortable in MATLAB, R, or Python to take the raw EDF files through the full analysis pipeline and return publish-ready results.

Scope of work
• Import and clean raw EDF files, correcting for blinks and calibrating any drift.
• Classify events (fixations, saccades, microsaccades) with robust, literature-backed algorithms.
• Compute advanced metrics, specifically:
 – Drift metrics over time and across trials
 – Microsaccade frequency, amplitude and direction distributions
 – Fixation stability using BCEA (Bivariate Contour Ellipse Area)
• Generate summary tables, visualizations and annotated plots that make patterns in reading behavior easy to interpret.
• Document each step in well-commented scripts so the workflow can be reproduced or extended later.

What I will provide
– All EDF recordings plus participant metadata
– A brief describing the experimental design and conditions

Acceptance criteria
1. Cleaned data and computed metrics delivered in Excel formats.
2. Scripts run end-to-end on my machine with clear instructions.
3. Visualizations ready for insertion into a manuscript.
4. Short report summarizing methods, parameter settings, and key findings.

If you have prior experience with EyeLink, SR Research toolboxes, or custom MATLAB routines for microsaccade detection, I’d love to see examples. Let’s turn this dataset into clear insights that move the project toward publication.
