Excel Utility Billing Summary
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I will send you two workbooks. The first contains the raw meter-by-meter transactions for November—opening balances, individual bill payments, consumption figures, meter-rent charges and the running totals. The second is a blank template that already has the headings I ultimately need: “Payment – Nov”, “Electricity (consumption + meter rent)”, “Water (consumption + meter rent)” and “Closing Balance”.
Your job is to build the formulas that pull the correct figures from the data sheet into the template so the result is a clean summary table I can hand straight to accounting. I am open to the best approach—SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, a compact PivotTable, or any other technique that keeps the workbook fast and easy for me to maintain each month—so please advise and implement what you feel is most reliable.
Speed matters; I would like the finished file back as soon as possible. A short note explaining the logic and where I can tweak the month reference will be appreciated. I will also need you to quickly explain it for me
