Excel Text Data Cleanup

Job ID: 40141032

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m sharing an Excel workbook that has grown chaotic over time. Most columns are text-heavy, but there are also a few numeric fields that now show gaps, odd separators, and suspicious spikes. I need the file returned in a state that’s ready for analysis or upload to our database.

Scope of work
• Re-capitalise every text entry so names, titles, and other labels follow proper case.
• Detect and remove all duplicate rows while preserving the first complete record.
• Standardise every date into a single, consistent format recognised by Excel and Power Query.
• Flag and, where possible, repair missing values, inconsistent number formats, and obvious outliers in the numeric columns.

Acceptance criteria
• No duplicate rows remain; row count clearly reported before and after.
• All dates pass Excel’s ISDATE test when the file is reopened.
• A summary sheet lists the cells changed for missing values and the outliers detected (with your threshold logic explained briefly).
• Workbook is delivered in .xlsx format, free of macros.

I work entirely in Microsoft 365, so compatibility there is essential. If you have questions about edge cases or prefer to demonstrate a small sample fix before running the full job, let me know and I’ll supply one.
