Excel Sorting & Conditional Formatting

I’m working in Excel for Office 365 and need a few reliability upgrades to an existing data sheet.

First, the whole range must sort smoothly by the Last Name in column A without any rows splitting apart. Whether you convert the range to an official Excel Table or apply another solution, the goal is a one-step sort where every related cell stays locked to its correct last name.

Second, column J has to act as an automated reminder system:
• Light pink 60 days before the date in the cell
• Red 45 days before and remain red until a new date is entered
Use TODAY() so the colours refresh automatically as the calendar moves.

I may decide to add further conditional-formatting rules or additional columns in the future, so please set things up in a way that will let me extend the logic easily. Once everything is in place, include a brief note or quick screen-capture showing how you built the rules so I can adjust them later if needed.

Deliverable: the revised workbook with the sort-safe structure, working colour alerts, and concise instructions.
