Excel Risk Metrics Calculation Template
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I’m finalising a small risk-management assignment that has to be illustrated entirely in Microsoft Excel. What I still need is a clean, well-documented workbook that:
— Calculates Value at Risk using the parametric method,
— Shows the supporting standard deviation of returns, and
— Displays the correlation matrix for the asset set I’ll drop into the sheet.
The focus is purely on financial data, so please structure the file so I can paste price-series or return-series straight in and have every metric recalc automatically. Native Excel functions, the Data Analysis Toolpak or VBA are all fine as long as the formulas remain transparent and editable.
Deliverables
1. One Excel file with:
• Input area for raw price/return data
• Parametric VaR output (clearly labelled, 1-day horizon, 95 % by default with the confidence level easy to change)
• Supporting standard-deviation calculation and a separate, dynamic correlation matrix
2. Brief in-sheet notes explaining where each key formula sits and how to refresh the results when new data are added.
If everything updates correctly when I swap in a fresh data set, the job is done.
