Excel Energy Meter Datasheet

I need a clean, user-friendly Excel workbook that lets me log raw electric-meter readings and immediately see how much energy I have consumed each day, with automatic roll-ups that show weekly and monthly totals. Energy consumption is the only metric I track, so the sheet can stay focused—no voltage or current fields cluttering the view.

Here’s how I picture it working:

• One simple input tab where I enter (or paste) the daily kWh reading; if I miss a day, the formulas should still calculate correctly once I fill the gap.
• Separate summary areas—either on the same sheet or dedicated tabs—that automatically calculate:
– Daily usage (kWh used since the previous reading)
– Weekly totals (Mon–Sun or a configurable start day)
– Monthly totals and a running grand total
• Clear, built-in charts showing trends over time.
• All calculations done with standard Excel formulas so I can audit or tweak them myself later—no VBA is required, but I’m open to it if you think it simplifies things.
• The final file must open flawlessly in current desktop Excel for Windows and Mac.

Once it’s done I’ll run a quick test by importing a month’s worth of sample readings; if the daily, weekly, and monthly numbers reconcile, we’re good.
