Excel Designer Needed to Create a Selector-Ready Athlete Performance Planner
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
We’re looking for an experienced Excel dashboard designer to rebuild and polish an existing performance tracker for a young international dressage rider (U21, Team GB pathway).
The tool should combine the clarity of a sports performance dashboard with the usability of a competition season planner, visually mapping key events, training, and milestones from September 2025 – December 2026.
This will be used with British Equestrian selectors, coaches, and sports psychologists, so it must look credible, clean, and professional — easy to read at a glance, visually polished, and print/PDF-ready.
What We Need!
A much better new version with enhancements of our current Excel workbook (we’ll provide Lily_U21_Performance_Tracker_FINAL_v7.xlsx) that includes:
Dashboard / Summary Page
Modern, branded header: “Lily Cawley – U21 Dressage Season Plan 2025–2026”
Key stats and quick facts:
Average % scores, PB, top-3 placings
Upcoming competitions
Next training camp or key milestone
Subtle use of national flag icons, clean chart visualisations, and professional formatting.
Feels like an Olympic performance plan — not a basic spreadsheet.
Refined Season Calendar
Replace the existing “Season Calendar (Monthly)” tab with a polished, filterable table view:
Consistent date formatting
Easy filters for month, location, or horse
Colour-coded event types:
Selected Internationals
TBC Internationals
Premier Leagues / High Profiles
Local BD Runs / Training
Automatic grouping by month or quarter
Light alternating row shading and clean typography
Visual Timeline / Gantt
Build a visual planner (like a season Gantt or grid) covering Sept 2025 – Dec 2026.
Rows for each event type (CDIs Abroad, CDIs UK, PL/HP, Camps, Regionals, BD Runs).
Coloured cells or bars with country flags for international events.
Must be print-optimised (A4/A3 landscape) and selector-ready.
Local BD Fixtures
Add a pale-blue section or tab for recurring BD training shows (every 2–3 weeks).
Lighter colour tone to indicate supporting runs, not headline events.
(Optional) Data Input Tab
Hidden sheet where all events and data feed into visuals dynamically.
Basic automation (conditional formatting, dropdown event type selection, etc.) is welcome.
Style & Design Direction
Minimalist, clean, and modern — similar to Team GB / UK Sport reporting.
Colours: neutral greys and blues with accent colours for event types.
Fonts: Calibri or Segoe UI (no serif fonts).
Consistent spacing, smart alignment, professional hierarchy.
Print- and PDF-ready; editable for future seasons.
We’ll Provide
Current Excel workbook (v7) with all data, formatting, and colour logic.
List of all confirmed and TBC competitions (Sept 2025–Dec 2026).
Notes on training schedule, goals, and milestones.
Deliverables
Final Excel workbook (professionally formatted, editable, and printable).
Optional A3 landscape PDF export of the dashboard and timeline views.
Short “how to update” guide for ongoing use.
Ideal Freelancer
Expert in Excel visual design and formatting (not just formulas).
Experience creating dashboards or planners for sports, events, or projects.
Confident with conditional formatting, data visualisation, iconography, and layout design.
Understands discretion and the need for a professional, selector-facing presentation.
How to apply:
Please share:
1–2 examples of previous Excel dashboards or planners you’ve designed (screenshots or files).
A short note on how you’d approach the visual design and structure.
