My team is expanding our international trucking operations and I need a solid, data-driven route plan that keeps every run inside Europe on time, on budget, and in full regulatory compliance. The focus is strictly on route planning—cargo handling and paperwork are already covered in-house.
Scope
• Analyse our current origin-to-destination pairs, factoring in border crossings, road taxes, tolls, and real-time traffic constraints.
• Optimise routes for cost, distance, driver hours, and fuel efficiency while respecting EU cabotage and driving-time rules.
• Supply alternative routings for seasonal disruptions or strikes.
Deliverables
1. A master route map (GIS, Google My Maps, or similar) with waypoints, rest points, and refuelling stops.
2. A spreadsheet summarising kilometres, toll estimates, and expected transit times for each leg.
3. A brief rationale document highlighting the key trade-offs behind each recommended route.
Acceptance criteria
• All routes meet current EU transport regulations.
• Total transit time and cost improve by at least 10 % over our baseline figures (data provided after award).
• Files open correctly in common mapping and spreadsheet tools.
