Data Analyst (Spreadsheet Specialist)
Budget: ₹100 – ₹400 INR
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst with a strong proficiency in spreadsheet-based data manipulation and analysis. The ideal candidate will be adept at transforming raw transaction data into actionable insights, identifying trends, and automating repetitive tasks.
This role is crucial for helping us understand our business performance by diving deep into transactional information extracted from our ERP system. If you enjoy solving puzzles with data, building efficient processes, and uncovering hidden patterns, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Data Import & Preparation: Import large datasets of financial and operational transactions from ERP systems into spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) for analysis.
Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., VBA, Google Apps Script, Python for Excel) to automate routine data cleaning, transformation, and reporting tasks, significantly improving efficiency.
Pivot Table & Formula Mastery: Expertly utilize pivot tables, advanced formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, array formulas), and conditional formatting to summarize, categorize, and present data effectively.
Pattern Recognition & Anomaly Detection: Proactively identify trends, anomalies, and significant patterns within large transaction datasets to support decision-making and highlight areas of interest or concern.
Data Visualization & Reporting: Create clear, concise, and visually compelling reports and dashboards that communicate key findings to stakeholders.
Ad-hoc Analysis: Conduct in-depth ad-hoc analyses based on business needs, providing insights into specific transactions, accounts, or operational areas.
Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve data analysis methodologies, tools, and reporting processes.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a data analysis role, with a strong emphasis on spreadsheet-based analysis.
Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and data validation.
Demonstrable experience with scripting for automation (e.g., VBA macros in Excel, Google Apps Script, or basic Python for data manipulation within a spreadsheet context).
Solid understanding of relational data concepts and experience working with large datasets.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to identify and interpret data patterns and trends.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience with specific ERP systems (mention your ERP if relevant, e.g., "SAP," "Oracle," "Sage").
Knowledge of basic accounting or financial principles, particularly related to transaction data.
Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for more advanced reporting, though primary focus remains on spreadsheets.
