Cubeler - Economist (Economic Activity Reports)
Budget: $25 – $50 CAD
Leveraging unique and proprietary datasets, Cubeler is looking for an experienced senior economist to help the Company provide its clients with a weekly pulse of Canadian economic activity.
Working with our data science and marketing teams, your role will be to study and interpret economic activity data. You will have access to daily datasets on Canadian private companies, including sales, cash balances, inventory levels, expenses and more, coming from various sectors of the Canadian economy, such as retail, construction, real estate and manufacturing. In addition to analyzing and interpreting the data, you will be asked to make forecasts and produce weekly reports to be made available to our clients.
Here is what I expect from you:
• A concise daily interpretation of Cubeler’s market-trend dataset with an emphasis on how competitors are moving.
• Integrated research that pulls in public economic releases, policy changes, or regulatory news that could shift those trends.
• Lightweight but solid economic-forecast models—Excel, Python, R or a similar tool is fine—to translate today’s signals into near-term outlooks.
• A templated weekly report (I will provide the template) summarising insights, forecasts, and any red-flag policy impacts, ready for stakeholder circulation.
• Ongoing collaboration with our statisticians and policy analysts so your work slots smoothly into our broader analytics stack.
Speed matters; I want the first daily analysis delivered as soon as you come on board and the first full weekly report within seven days. Continuous improvements and real-time commentary are highly valued as legislation and market conditions evolve.
If you’re comfortable turning raw datasets into decision-ready economic intelligence on an accelerated schedule, let’s get started.
