Comparative AUD Commodities Thesis

Job ID: 40242567

Budget: €30 – €250 EUR

I’m in the early stages of a bachelor level thesis that asks one core question: are commodity prices or global financial factors more influential in driving movements in the Australian dollar? Australia is my primary case, but I also want a concise comparison with Mexico that zeroes in on each country’s degree of commodity dependency.

What I need over the next month is expert, hands-on support to move from concept to a ready-to-run empirical study. The immediate tasks are:

Creating an index and completing the first few chapters

• Pin down a sharp research question and confirm a logical chapter structure.
• Build a focused literature review covering commodity currencies, the global financial cycle and any prior AUD or MXN exchange-rate work.
• Locate, justify and download the key datasets—likely spot rates, commodity price indices, terms-of-trade measures, VIX or similar global liquidity gauges—then prepare them for Stata/R/EViews analysis.
• Draft an empirical strategy (e.g., VAR, VECM, ARDL or Bayesian methods if you see fit) that cleanly tests commodity versus financial drivers, plus a short, parallel specification for Mexico.

If you have a track record with exchange-rate modelling, commodity-linked economies or cross-country time-series work, I’d love to collaborate.
